Share it, feed the worms
As in the previews post I have mentioned, you can share your food scraps with other people or, even, tiny organisms such as worms. You could give away your organic waste collected to people in your neighbourhood who have a garden to easily compost it using the ShareWaste website. ShareWaste - Give your waste a second chance!
I clearly understand that living in a small flat in a huge city like
London, sometimes you do not have access to the right place to start composting
yourself.
How can we feed the worms so they eat our organic
scraps?
The first thing you need to keep in mind is that you can develop a small
worm farm for them to eat your kitchen scraps to reuse them giving them a
second chance.
Watch this video for more information about what is a worm farm and
how to develop one.

Here, there are several tips to follow to make them feel comfortable in
their ecosystem to get attracted by the vegetable peels.
Cut in minute pieces the peels and organic rest.
This way is essential for the worms to eat the food waste because they
have tiny mouths and bodies. For that reason, it would be easier for them to
chew it.
They do not like certain ingredients.
Several bits are not pleasant for the worms to eat such as onions and
citrus fruit like lemon. Therefore, it would be good that you avoid putting
them into your bin. You can give them another utility such as using the lemon
peel as a cleaning product.
Keep the worm container/bin humid and wet.
The temperature of the bin is a key factor for the worms to be alive and
appealing to our organic scraps. The inside container would need to be always
wet with enough humidity for the worms to feel comfortable in their
ecosystem.
Make them feel at home! =)
